Out of the many things I love in this world, baking and fall happen to be pretty high up on the list. Pinterest is easily one of the best ways I distract myself from my homework and sometimes even a boring class lecture—sorry mom and dad. So recently I’ve been searching through Pinterest for some great Fall treats that I can bake on a nice day off. Luckily I found plenty, but I figured it’s best to not overwhelm, so here are my top 5 favorite recipes I’m going to try this fall.
Disclaimer: Due to my recently crazy schedule I have not been able to make any of these yet but will be making one a week that I will gladly share the results of. Let’s pray I don’t ruin my kitchen, I’m fairly certain my roommates would not appreciate that.
Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey Cupcakes with a Bourbon Drizzle from creative-culinary.com
These cupcakes are number one on my “must-make” list because it looks so unbelievably delicious. Despite the longer recipe it should only take you about 30 minutes total to complete the cupcakes. There’s also a recipe to make your frosting for the cupcakes as well. You can find the full recipe here! Just note—you will actually need Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey.
Apple Lattice Pies from joybx.net
These apple pies within an apple are easily the most adorable dessert for this fall. Unlike the last recipe, this one is pretty short and sweet. It also only requires 4 ingredients—super convenient. This is the perfect recipe to make after a day of apple picking—you can use your freshly picked apples! You can find the recipe here.
Caramel Apple Cider Cookie from The Girl Who Ate Everything
Although I have yet to make these cookies for myself, I know they will be delicious solely because they’re from my favorite food blog! The Girl Who Ate Everything. The recipe for this one is a little hefty but it makes 2-3 dozen cookies so it’s perfect if you’re having a big group of friends or family over. Caramel is typically not my first choice yet all I want right now is one of these cookies. You can find the recipe here.
Pumpkin Cake with Cinnamon Maple Cream Cheese Frosting from The Novice Chef
You had me at “pumpkin cake.” No, but really—there’s no way you can resist this delicious looking cake. Maybe it’s just a New England thing but everywhere I go there is pumpkin flavored something—and I love it. Pair the pumpkin with both cinnamon and maple flavors and this may just be the best cake ever. You can find the recipe here.
Pumpkin Chai Latte from TexanErin
Someone call Starbucks because I would 100% order this everyday. Although I am an avid coffee drinker, I also love tea. This recipe is easy to follow, super quick, and an inexpensive way to make a Starbucks quality drink—perfect for all you fellow college students. The minute I get back to my apartment I’m making myself one of these! You can find the recipe here.
I can’t wait to try these recipes and hope you will try them too. I’ll be posting pictures and possibly a blog about my experience making these lovely treats—so stay tuned! Also, you can follow me on Pinterest.
Much love — Nicole
